Thatcher pictures

I am sure this is the first of many posts that we will be calling "Thatcher pictures"... we can't help it... he is so photogenic and stinkin' cute! (We aren't biased or anything) These are just a few of our favorite pictures the past few weeks :)

He is here!

Ok, so technically our lil man has been "here" for about three weeks... but this is the first chance I have had to sit down and share some pictures, so sorry for the delay. We are loving his cute little face and feeling so blessed to have him in our home!

A little about Thatcher's birthday... My blood pressure had been creeping up rather steadily (even with added BP meds) over the past few weeks, so we did some lab work and they came back awful. So at 38 weeks exactly we were scheduled for a c-section. I wasn't too thrilled about the c-section but it was the safest way to get the lil man here. We arrived at the hospital about 6:00 am Thursday morning and started getting prepped for surgery. At 7:46 Thatcher was born, 21 in long 9 lbs 11 oz. The NICU team was in the room with us "just in case" as they were introducing themselves to me I said I was glad they were there but I didn't think we would need them. Sure enough, they took his vitals and measurements and their job was done (thank goodness!). Over the next 24 hours we worked to keep his blood sugars stable, luckily he didn't need much formula because I was able to produce enough for him. :) I was so grateful for the nursing staff and my doctor- I couldn't have asked for a better health care team to make this day even more special. I feel so blessed that I didn't have any major complications, it is still hard to believe that I can hold this lil guy in my arms and know that he is ours forever!

We are enjoying getting to know our lil guy and his already blooming personality. We love to see the little changes everyday and cant wait to see what is in store for the three of us as he grows. We are so grateful for the love and support from family and friends... it was quite the journey to get where we are today and we wouldn't have made it without you!

Love,

Kira, Aaron and Thatcher
