Thatcher's First Christmas

Merry Christmas! Just a quick photo pile of the meriment of Thatcher's first Christmas!

We have a little tradition with the Beal side of the family that was started by my Great Grandparents about the time of the Depression. For Christmas brunch we have muffins, fish, and eggs. It has been one of my fondest memories of Christmas, brunch with our extended family. The past few years we have had some scheduling conflicts and moved our "brunch" to other times. This year it was at my Great Aunts home in Boise Sunday night. We met up with some of our "cousins" (they are technically first cousins once removed or something like that... their parents and my Grandpa are siblings.) Thatcher was one of three high-chair dwellers that night and had fun playing on the floor with the other little ones. We just pulled the chairs in a circle, dumped out some toys, and put the kiddos in the middle. It worked out pretty well.

Since we had "brunch" Sunday night we had a quiet morning at home, which was perfect for us. We let Thatcher sleep as long as he wanted, then unwrapped and played with toys before getting ready to head to Grandmas for the morning.

Thatcher was getting pretty good at the unwrapping stage and thought it was pretty fun to see what was under all the paper.

Cocoa decided that she didn't want to miss out on the party- so she fell asleep right in the middle of all the action. Thatcher crawled all over her and she hardly moved.

We spent the evening with the Campbell side of the family and enjoyed some food and gifts with them. I love being so close to family and being able to spend time with them.
