Projects!

This weekend was project central at our house! (My poor husband must think I have lost my mind...) We knew that we wanted to paint the nursery because it hasn't been painted since we moved in and there were a ton of little "pin" holes in the walls and we have no idea what paint color our walls are so we haven't been able to patch them- needless to say it has been making me nuts since I noticed them shortly after moving in. So we finally decided on some colors- a bright/light blue and grey! (Very daring for us monochromatic types). When we first started with the grey I was really nervous that it was more purple than grey and everything would be ruined, a little sleep and some daylight thankfully proved me wrong and we have a beautiful brownish grey pair of walls! The blue was the perfect shade with the grey and everything came together nicely! We even found a cute car town rug on craigslist that is grey/blue (because what little boys room is complete without a car mat to play on??)

one grey wall and one blue wall all done!

While we were waiting for paint to dry Aaron got to work repainting all of the shiny gold things in the house- i.e. door knobs and the fireplace! Thanks to some smart ladies on Pinterest who posted how to use spray paint to spruce up just about anything!! We only spent about $10 for the paint to cover about 15 door knobs! Major savings if you ask us (just don't look too closely we are not professionals but they look pretty good!) :)
Tah-dah! The finished room! It looks so cute!
Now we just need the lil man to come and enjoy it! (Just not too early).

22 Weeks- headed to church

Aaron got a Red Lobster gift card at work a week or so ago and we decided after a long day of painting and cleaning and projects we would clean up and head out for dinner! We snagged this shot on the way out the door- I told Aaron that I was feeling "lop-sidded" all night and maybe the lil guy was sitting crooked? Things are still going well, aside from a few headaches and increasingly crazy blood sugars but I really can't complain!

Pictures

Ok, so I heard that the little video clips are a pain for viewing our little guy. So with the help of my mom we got the ultrasound pictures scanned! Here you go!

 His little face
Looking right at us!

two very wiggly legs!

OH BOY!

Today was the big day! We had our 22 week ultrasound and got to see our little guy for about 40 min.! It was fun to watch him swallow and wiggle and play. We can't wait to hold and snuggle him in February! So far things look good (today was just the u/s we meet with the OB on Friday to actually "discuss" everything). Our little guy is quite the wiggle worm- he kinda kicked at the ultra sound wand toward the end, I guess he was tired of us invading his space and interrupting his nap.

These are a few of the images from today- they came as little 2-3 second video clips for some reason so hopefully you can enjoy them. (This weekend I will scan in the pics they printed out for us, they should be easier to see).

You can watch him kick toward the right!

Feet (look toward the upper Right- his little toes are closer together and heels apart)

Nice strong heartbeat!

Right arm- you can see all his little bones!

We are excited to get a few things done now that we know he is a he! A few weeks ago one of my Grandma's asked why we wanted to find out boy/girl and Aaron just looked at her then pointed to me and asked her "have you met my wife?" We all laughed and I couldn't help but giggle about how much "planning" I had already done and how much there is still to do! ;)

Hope you enjoyed our pictures!

Love,
Aaron, Kira, and baby boy

BUMP!

Well, when I found out I was pregnant I told myself I would take a picture of my growing belly each week... do you have any idea how hard it is to take a decent picture of yourself by yourself?? (With Aaron's work and school schedule we only see each other on the weekends and when I am up to go potty at midnight- 2am when he is just getting home) We have managed to snag a few pics the past few weeks and hopefully I will remember to keep taking pics! So here you go... just thought I would share a few of the recent ones with you :)

(Notice the Blue and Orange? It was game day! Go BRONCOS!!)

(and of course we are all set for next football season... we can't live in bronconation and not have proper bronco attire for the entire family)

I have been feeling pretty good the past few weeks aside from a migraine headache at 2 am that landed us in labor and delivery for observation and medication (nothing was really wrong they just wanted to observe me since I haven't had a migraine before). The baby didn't seem to mind, I could feel the little wiggle worm and the nurse found a nice strong heart beat. Hopefully that is our last trip to the L&D until February! :)

Miracles and Blessings

After being approved and on the adoption waiting list for about four months we have been blessed with a miracle! We are PREGNANT!! (I hate cliché’s but so far I have managed to be a “june bride” and get pregnant after being approved for adoption!)

The positive test was the same morning as my huge RMA exam, I hadn’t felt well for the two weeks leading up to the exam and just thought it was nerves and stress. When things didn’t get any better I kept having the thought that I was pregnant… so off to Walmart I went and came home with a three pack of tests. Yup, I used all three J just trying to be thorough.
We began with cautious optimism and made the OBGYN appt for a few weeks later (apparently there are a lot of pregnant ladies in the treasure valley this summer it was hard to get an appt). We prayed and prayed that our little miracle would have a heart beat and be healthy. The first ultrasound was such an amazing day! We saw a glorious heart beat and a little “gummy bear” that wiggled and moved! We were so relieved and still a little worried.
The weeks have ticked by and I have tried my best to enjoy being pregnant and remind myself on the days I don’t feel so great that I prayed for this J My diabetes hasn’t given me much trouble, I am so blessed with amazing technology and physicians who have been available to help trouble shoot some tricky things. There haven’t been any major complications or reasons to be concerned.
Each day that goes by we are getting a little more excited, but there is still that nasty “what if” and “maybe” monster lurking in the shadows… we are anxious for the next ultra sound appt to know that everything is going well and to see our little miracle baby!
Wish us luck and keep us in your prayers and until February, keep watching for more baby belly news from the Fullers!

Summer Fun!

Well, once again, time has slipped away and I haven’t posted a blog in FOREVER! (Sorry Grandpa!) So I thought I would give you a quick rundown of our summer so far… We haven’t had many crazy adventures but a few things of note, unfortunately there are fewer pictures than I had hoped to help tell the story- we will work on that for fall! J
June- I passed my aweful, dreaded, RMA exam in June! Finally! I was so worried about it because I have been out of school for so long and don’t really do all the “clinical” things on a daily basis. But, with a lot of prayer and some frantic studying I managed to pass with flying colors! So, I am officially done with school! YIPPEE!!
June also included our fourth wedding anniversary, its hard to believe that it has already been four years! I am so grateful for Aarons love for me and that we are a forever family! I love him more and more each day and look forward to the years to come!

July- We started July off with a bang and a Campbell family party to celebrate Grandpa and Grandma’s 60th anniversary! We had so much fun together as a family- we sure missed the few people who couldn’t make it. According to Grandpa we are just shy of 80 family members! We had an excellent day in the park, went to church together, and had a fun picnic on the lawn at "Belly Acres" (that's what Grandpa named thier property)
(three of the "great-grandsons" playing in a tub of ice at the park)
(Aunt Ann and Brady at the BBQ making some yummy grilled corn!)
(Aaron and Lizzy-she has such a serious face in this picture)
We were lucky to have my cousin’s wife Sarah and their daughter Lizzy as well as my other cousin Tyler and his wife Kate stay with us. It made for a few late night/early morning conversations and they were excellent company. It was fun to have miss Lizzy in the house and spend time playing with her. (Thanks Josh for sharing your girls J )
(the mountains near where we put in at Hells Canyon)
August- We decided to celebrate our Anniversary a few months late and enjoy a weekend away. We headed out early Friday morning to Northern Idaho. We spent the weekend at a bed and breakfast between Whitebird and Grangeville. We enjoyed some sightseeing and a super fun jet boat tour of Hells Canyon! Neither of us have spent much time in N. Idaho so it was fun to explore and see the different sights.
(Just starting our day on the water)
(Hells Canyon Dam- because the water was lower we could get right up close!)
(the B&B we stayed at, very rustic and fun!)
 (View of the Whitebird battlefield)
(The beautiful and majestic Sawtooths)
The next weekend we went camping in Stanley. We were tagging along with my mom and her friend Ami and her family. We shared our favorite campground with them, enjoyed the cool-ish mountain air, and a drive around Red Fish Lake (we were planning to stop and play at the lake but there wasn’t a single parking space to be found!). Jack came home from camp exhausted- he slept the entire drive home and the next two days! Poor puppy.

Well, I think that about catches up our summer! Whew! Hope everyone enjoyed their summer and wish us luck as Aaron goes back to school at CWI this fall!

And spring does turn to summer... maybe.

Well, the weather is starting to decide that maybe it is time to warm up and act a little more "summer like", and all I can say is YAY! I really don't like the super hot temperatures of late summer, but I could really use some sunshine and a little less rain, however the garden is loving the cool, wet spring.

As spring was in full force we had quite a bit of rain and quite a few cold icky days. So, what do you do when the weather is too icky to be outside?? Pull up some movies on the lap top and start crafting and sewing! This particular day I was sewing with my fabulous granny smith green and white polka dot fabric and our kitty decided that she wanted to help...

One fun thing as spring turns to summer is all the fantastic weather! Being married to a self proclaimed "weather geek" means we have had our share of awesome storm watching opportunities. The sunsets are my personal favorite, you just can't beat some of those colors.
Also this Spring I tried my hand at my first batch of homemade strawberry freezer jam (all by myself)! The strawberries were on a killer deal at the local produce market and I decided I needed a whole flat and then some :) I spent the rest of the afternoon playing in sticky strawberry goodness!YUM!

The finished product all lined up in the freezer, isn't it so pretty?
Because of the crazy snow pack we had this winter and the cool, wet spring we have had some VERY full rivers, streams, and reservoirs. This is the "Rooster Tail" at Lucky Peak Dam. We drove up one Sunday to witness the fun water show. There is a bunch of water being funneled through a little "door" in the dam, it is about a 4 foot rectangle (if I am remembering right). It was pretty impressive to see all that water being shot through such a small space.
With the warmer temperatures Jack has rediscovered his love for playing in the sun outside! He frequently spends the warmer part of the day basking on the brick patio, hunting for sticks in the yard, or protecting us from the evil birds that want to enjoy our yard too. :) (Remember the scene in Lion King where Timon and Pumba go bowling for buzzards? Jack bowls for robins and sparrows). This is a frequent image in our house now that we expend so much energy outside, total wipeout on the back of the couch. Such a sleepy little guy.
The past few years we have enjoyed the Field of Honor the City of Eagle puts together at Merrill Park. There are hundreds of flags laid out in a perfect grid, most of them have a yellow tag bearing the name of someone currently serving or who has served our country. The park is transformed into a peaceful and almost reverent sea of red, white and blue.It is just a small glimpse at the number of men and women who fight for the freedoms we often take for granted. I am so grateful for my Grandfather, Father in Law, Brother, and brothers in law, as well as many friends and others who serve our country.
THANK YOU!
We recently spent about a week in the mountains of Utah for a family reunion with my mom's side of the family, there were quite a few of us all piled into a beautiful lodge/cabin. We enjoyed the time spent together playing, singing, and learning new things. Each of the kids were able to spend a little time each day with other kids their own age and counselors while the adults did other things. It gave us all time to enjoy all the sights and events. Only a few were brave enough to jump in the pool, even though it was heated, at over 7000 feet in the beginning of June it is still pretty darn cold! :) It was so fun to play with the kids, in this picture we were hunting for bugs (I'm not usually a bug person but rolley polley bugs are usually fun and harmless, lucky for me we didn't find any spiders or other such icky things).
Being "childless" this trip gave Aaron and I a fun opportunity to help out with the younger cousins and enjoy some time on our own. I often found myself daydreaming about the "what-ifs" and would be pulled back into reality by a cousin asking us to play. What a blessing it is to have such a wonderful, supportive and loving family! Thanks to all of those who traveled to the beautiful mountains to spend time together. This picture was at the end of the week, this is a view we had from the front of our cabin each day, yes there was still plenty of snow on the mountain, only a few piles were actually in camp and the cousins were quick to help spread that out ;). Just a little cold, and a little sunburned, and a bunch of wonderful memories!
Well, that brings us up to date... Stay tuned for a bunch of exciting summer activities (hopefully work schedules will cooperate a little better this summer). We are excited to head for the hills at least a few times and hopefully become better fly fishermen, and we can always hope to hear from a birth mom about an opportunity for our little family to grow :)

Spring Projects!

Well, spring is here. I think… We have had a few warmish days with sun and a few rainy cloudy days and the rest have been a mix of the two! You have to love Idaho weather right? So far this spring we have been busy with a few projects inside and out. Jack had become an excellent defender of the yard from the robins and squirrels (even though they are about his size).
We found some good (and inexpensive!) fill dirt for our new garden boxes. Unfortunately for me Aaron had to work that day so I was left to unload two pickup loads of dirt via wheel barrow and 5-gallon buckets. My mom was able to come help for a bit too! It took most of the day but I was glad to see them full of dirt!

(this was the first load of dirt-I was hoping that would be the only load...)

Jack and Cleo have been playing hard with the warmer weather and are learning to enjoy each other’s company a little more. This was a rare moment after playing outside for most of the day and we all needed a little rest.

Spring of course means spring cleaning! I took the opportunity one Saturday to clean out a closet in our guest room/office/craft room. Cleo was helping with the plastic bins in this picture! I can now see all my remnant fabric on shelves (instead of being stashed in a box somewhere) and all my beading and scrapbooking supplies are a little easier to get to and put away each time.

This spring we also have been able to experience some of the expensive “joys” of homeownership! (I say that with all sarcasm!) The potty in our master bathroom has been running non-stop for over a month. We replaced just about all of the working inner parts to no avail! So we decided to just replace it. With a little help from a very talented plumbing supervisor (my Grandpa Campbell) and only two total trips to the Orange store we installed a new potty!

My mom’s birthday was in April and my little brother is away at military training and my sister and her husband were stuck in Rexburg so Aaron and I, Grandpa and Grandma Beal, Grandpa and Grandma Campbell and one of my mom’s brothers got together for a yummy dinner and this beautiful cake I whipped up! As kids my mom always made and decorated our cakes and I loved it! I plan to do the same for my kids and thought I should start practicing now… It was chocolate with a chocolate mousse filling and white butter cream icing with pink squiggles. YUM YUM!

One of the selling points about our house when we bought it was the wonderful back yard and covered brick patio! It has been so fun to sit on the patio and enjoy our yard! When we moved in I envisioned a porch swing hanging from the giant support beam at the edge of the patio. I have been hunting for an affordable swing that I liked and couldn’t find one. So I started to sketch and plan and measure and price lumber… and voila! A porch swing is built! J It only took about a day and just needs to be painted! We have been enjoying watching our friends kiddos play in our yard and on the swing!

(these three brothers are so cute and love the swing! We have been "borrowing" these boys for a while now and it has been so fun to watch the play in the yard this year now that they are a little older.)

On the less than ideal weather days this spring I have been working on some sewing and crafting projects. It’s been fun to have the space to lay out fabric and work on larger projects. This particular day apparently Cleo was feeling a little neglected. She would hop on the table and lay right in the middle of my fabric or swat at my scissors as I was trying to cut! I had to take a break and play with her so she would leave me alone. Cats and sewing machines don‘t mix!
Well, happy Spring! We hope the weather catches up with the calendar and we start seeing a little more sunshine! We are grateful for the wet winter and the moisture it will provide to all the farmers and crops this year. Just another reminder that God is aware of us and our needs!
Live happy, live healthy! Love, Kira and Aaron
